Egypt Day 3 & 4: Temples Along the Cruise
On the fourth day of the trip, we visited two temples. They were the Kom-ombo temple and the Edfu temple. In the morning, I was woken by the noise of an anchor being pulled up. I got ready and went to the lobby. We went to Kom-ombo temple. The temple was for the god Horus or the falcon god. The Egyptians worshiped whatever the feared and whatever the loved or were thankful to. Therefore, the Egyptians don't worship the actual falcon but they believe that god has put there features on to a falcon. Then we went back to the ship and we had breakfast.
We had some free time and we went to the Edfu temple. At Edfu, again it was the temple of the god Horus. It was the first place that archeologists found "recipes" for making the perfume the way that the ancient Egyptians did. The Edfu temple is the also is home to the worlds largest drama drawn in history. The drama is of Horus, son of Osiris, avenging his father's death by killing Seth.
